Japanese Classics has a 1993 Supra with a 5 speed swap for sale.

94k miles is a lot imo, but to each their own.

That’s kinda cheaping out on the transmission. I know the 6-speeds are super rare but man, that’s a pretty big turn off for a 50K vehicle.

It’s not even the good 5-speed. You have to swap it again if you want to build it.

There’s a 5-speed transmission (the R154) that can handle about 500 HP. The W58 can’t handle much more than what a stock 2J is putting out, so no matter what you’d need to do another transmission swap on this if you want to build it.

There is also the Tremec T56 that can go in, and handle pretty much as much as the V160 can. The Nissan CD 6-speeds are pretty stout too.

The list of cars I would buy first before this for 43k is so extensive.

A T56 would actually be my first choice (and would almost definitely be cheaper than an R154), but I wasn’t sure if JZ adapters for them had become widespread yet.

I believe it has been done before, I just don’t know how wide spread.
